Kids Programs

The Casper Community Greenhouse Project has worked on garden projects all around Casper, from school greenhouses to community gardens, garden walls to our new Urban Farm. In 2026 we are excited to be part of launching the community wide Junior Master Gardener Passport Program!

New In 2026!

passport program

The Junior Master Gardener Passport Program is designed to inspire the next generation of growers, leaders, and problem-solvers right here in our community. Through hands-on learning and real experiences in the garden, youth will explore soil health, food systems, pollinators, nutrition, and the science behind how things grow. This is not just a class—it’s a journey. Each participant will receive a personalized passport to track their learning as they engage in sessions hosted throughout the year by partners such as 4-H, Science Zone, Boys & Girls Club, Grow Casper Urban Farm, Park Elementary, Journey Elementary, Evansville Elementary, and other community partners who share our passion for helping others know how to grow.

dirty hands - happy hearts

As students participate in workshops, garden days, service projects, and seasonal activities, their passports will be stamped to document both knowledge gained and time spent with hands in the soil. The program encourages curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of where food comes from—while building confidence and practical skills that extend far beyond the garden gate. Whether a child is just discovering their first seedling or already dreaming of becoming a farmer, scientist, or community leader, the Passport Program meets them where they are and invites them to keep growing.

Each year, participants who complete their passport requirements will be recognized as Certified Junior Master Gardeners at a celebratory awards banquet hosted at Grow Casper Urban Farm. Surrounded by family, mentors, and community partners, these young growers will be honored not only for what they’ve learned, but for the leadership, stewardship, and heart they’ve shown along the way. Because at Grow Casper, we believe when we teach a child to grow, we’re planting seeds for a stronger, healthier tomorrow.

school greenhouses

Our vision for the future of our community starts with our children.

From the ground up, we work with Natrona County School District and school's staff to garner involvement in a greenhouse classroom. We help to fund and staff the construction process, but we don't stop there. A greenhouse is just a shed without someone to help it grow. Our project helps hire a part-time greenhouse manager to care for the facility.

Each school uses their greenhouse classroom for different learning applications. Integrating with parts of their curriculum like creative writing, STEAM, business and entrepreneurship, sales and marketing, biology, propagation, chemistry, and so much more.

Read about our schools and how they have made their greenhouses an interactive class experience.

Park Elementary school

This is our newest greenhouse build, completed in March 2023. This school is excited to have a space to grow and learn entrepreneurial skills. Park plans on setting up a farm stand to sell some of what they learn to grow. The students of the garden club created a dream board of what they would love to grow in their greenhouse. We are excited to be a part of making those dreams a reality!

Evansville Elementary

The Garden Club here has an annual Mother's Day Plant Sale. Students learn all costs and time that it takes to have plants to sell. They use business practices to evaluate costs of seeds, dirt, time, pots, water, and demand. They also learn about many different types of tropical, desert, and aquaponic plants. The koi fish help to grow some of the plants they learn can be grown by propagation.

Journey Elementary

Students here focus on food production, they love how their homegrown veggies taste better than the store-bought varieties! Check out the outdoor sensory garden and summer growing space.
